Free Lunch Program For Charlotte-Mecklenburg Students While Schools Are Closed
The Loyalist Market in Matthews has teamed up with a number of other Charlotte businesses to provide free lunches while Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools (CMS) are closed due to the COVID-19 crisis. All K-12 schools across North Carolina are now closed for at least two weeks. Sadly, many children in the CMS school system receive free meals at school and are affected by these school closures.
In conjunction with other Charlotte area businesses, the Loyalist Market’s owner, Christopher Sottile has organized a drive to provide a free sandwich to any child currently receiving free lunches in the North Carolina school system, beginning today, March 17th through March 30th. The goal is to serve some 3,000 lunchesbetween today and March 30th.
