What are we doing to stay safe? 

Our priority at this time is the safety of our inspection team, their families, their relatives, their neighbors, their friends, our clients, our realtor partners, and all of their families, friends, neighbors, relatives.  Basically, everyone that could possible be infected with the COVID-19 virus. With that in mind, we have instituted these rules for all inspections until we pass through this crisis.

We are requesting that only one person attend for the buyers, and best case is no one attends the inspection. We will call them in the evening after the report is sent to go over any questions they may have. If the house is occupied, we request no sellers be present. No hand shakes upon greeting, we will be wearing gloves throughout the inspection as well as boot covers, using hand sanitizer often and for sure after leaving. Also, if any of the parties are sick or not feeling well, then tell us and we can always reschedule.

We actually had an elderly woman (seller) greet us at the door the other day, wearing a mask. There was a sign on the storm door warning not to enter. She told us through the door that her husband was in the living room, he had been coughing and had a fever, clearly exhibiting the signs that he was infected and was confined to their home by their doctor.

We left and did not go in the house. The buyer, his agent and I just missed walking right into our own personal hot zone. At some point they will be ready to sell, but it will be a while. The deal is on hold until they are healthy.
