Tongue Biting Does Have Its Advantages

Seeing or hearing medical advice from those who have no triage experience, studies cited from self-proclaimed experts and information of all sorts is definitely never in short supply.  During this time.  And let's face it -  at any time.  It seems that way to me.  How about you?

But I didn't realize a search for quotes about biting one's tongue would lead to some medical discoveries.  Leave it to the pleasure of online searches.

At the risk of spreading any additional mis-information and rumors, I will refrain from discussing medical issues and I will save the quotes for another occasion.  And maybe that's the point -- the goal is not to necessarily to find some words that capture the moment but to STOP.  Proceed as appropriate.

A lot of my thoughts and ponderings as of late seem focused on taking that extra step.  It's not new for me but maybe just an acknowledgment of the importance of basics.

I do bite my tongue, not literally. It's really not too useful to try and reason with armchair experts - and there are millions of them right now,  or at any other time really.  If it is coming from someone I can't avoid at the moment, I try to use Emotional Intelligence to figure out what is behind the need to lecture/boss others, otherwise I just ignore them.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - you are right, armchair experts are readily available but rarely needed - seemingly never a shortage.  Ignoring is often the best way to keep our own head open to possibilities that can enhance our lives.

Hi Michael,
Many people mistake their opinions for expertise, don't they?  You got me curious about tongue biting quotes and this is my favorite:
"She's got bite marks on her tongue from all the things she never said."

More people need to practice that skill.

Lyn Sims - I wonder can we practice too much, too long and too hard. . .  Is there a tipping point?

Carol Williams - that is a good find and a good quote.

Debra Leisek - I have heard that song. . .    Our world is so creative, I am sure there will be many examples to follow.  It's necessary in my opinion.

Michael, we do have to "bite our tongue" especially with family members of our buyers that think they know more than we do!

Hi Michael:

A figurative tongue bite is often the best thing for all parties concerned. Sadly, not everyone agrees and suffers the repurcussions.
