It is so easy to feel we are living in a bubble, when outside forces are one reality, but your own reality is something a little different! This past week has been like that for me! I’m actually on day 5 of having not left my house.
Last Thursday evening, my grandson, who I hadn’t seen in a few years, came for a visit from Houston. John Luis has been attending Rice University there. He is graduating in May. Certain plans for activities began crumbling as a chain of health directives and self-isolation orders came to pass. Sacramento also experienced rains on most days!
With these challenges in mind, I put focus on cooking special dinners, with family time. We took the opportunity to put logs on the fire, and watched favorite movies, found on old DVDs, kept in the drawers of my entertainment center.
My grandson returned to Houston late last night. Although we didn’t venture outside as much, I will have warm memories of our time together, while California continues to self-isolate.
