Marketing homes on the Internet does work!

Many sellers would like to see their home advertised in home magazines and the local newspaper and do not understand the Internet is where most buyers go to find homes.  Realtors continue to spend money on paper advertising in order to please their sellers.

Less than 3% of homes are sold through paper advertising and homes being advertised in the real estate section of newspapers each weekend are decreasing while more buyers are realizing how much easier it is to find a home online.  Most buyers go online to look for homes multiple times before even calling a realtor for assistance.

Realtors who not expose their listings on the Internet and aren't "Internet savvy", are doing a disservice to their seller.  If a sellers' agent looks anything like the picture on the left, they are in BIG trouble!!  Realtors who do not keep up with technology will fall behind fast.

A seller once told me, marketing his home online was passive marketing and he was more interested in other avenues of finding a buyer.  Don't get me wrong, other methods such hosting Open Houses may work but I think marketing on the Internet is the most successful method outside of listing it in the Pikes Peak MLS.

In fact, I just received a phone call yesterday from a woman in Alaska who was recently in the Colorado Springs area looking for homes and had not found anything she liked.  Once back home, she went online and found a home that I had recently listed.  She called me and said the home was perfect for her and exactly what she was looking for.

I sold my own Colorado Springs home in 19 days and where do you think the buyers found the home?  That's right, online.  They moved here from Montana.

Sellers, if your home is exposed on the Internet, your home will be available to people all over the world.  You never know where the buyers for your home are moving from, they may be living in a different state or even another country!!

I read that 95% of all people looking to buy start out on the internet. I post my listings in as many places as possible, including AR. Exposure, exposure, exposure.
