Motivational Monday...Our Senses

 

More than ever, we are tasked with adapting to a new way we are living our lives. I have faith it will be temporary.

 

It may appear that our choices are limited now...home delivery instead just a thoughtof dine-in, limits on the number of certain grocery items, and how we spend our days. 

 

But one choice we always have is the ability to choose how we adjust to and handle what our daily lives brings us. 

 

Whether or not you believe in God or some other source of life, we have been given the power to choose.  We are given senses that can color how we experience life around us. 

 

Eyes to see the beauty of the first flower of the season or the ugly weeds around you.

Ears to hear the melodious song of the mocking bird or the complaints of others. 

 

A nose to appreciate the aroma of freshly baked bread or one to turn up at what you don’t like.

A mouth to offer thanks to all those in your life or one to criticize everything you see. 

 

However, what drives those senses are the heart and brain that enable us to choose how we use them.

Michael Jacobs absolutely. It's hard to be around others who have negative attitudes. 

Thank you Brian England \just as we practice mindfulness we have to practice choosing to be happy.

Krystin Mitchell, CPA CFE make it a point to surround yourself with people who will lift you up.  When I reached a certain age, I shed people who only brought me down.

Hi Kathy:

You are so right - we ultimately have the choice with our senses to pay attention, or not.

Loved the mockingbird video - they are fascinating to listen to. We had one out in the canyon the other day and it went on and on and on. The only I seem to appreciate them less is when they decide to sing late at night, usually in the summer!

We live in a neighborhood with equestrian trails-2 miles long.  Often we go on with our daily role without realizing how lucky we are.  The other routine is check up on local stats: 84 new cases in 1 day(total is 459 tested +) and 17 death.
