I am reading about coronavirus and can’t believe my eyes. We do not need to wear masks. Really?
So, the virus can easily spread when people cough, but we do not need to wear masks to protect ourselves.
Seems like the only reason they give you is that if we do not stop using them, then professionals would not have enough.
Enough for what?
Or, to deal with the very same people, that we would like to protect from. What, the virus is so selective and hits professionals, but would not hit us?
I should be understanding the notion behind it, but I really don’t.
Because if we are honest, then we need to say that mask would help us as well as the professionals, but because their risk is much higher, we need to make a sacrifice. Pass on the mask in CVS… But if we so desperately need these masks for medical professionals, why are they still can be found in pharmacies? Why the government wouldn’t just buy all the available stock and give it to medical professionals? And not one per doctor, like they are doing now…
HHS Secretary Alex Azar said that “as many as 300 million masks needed in the U.S. for health care workers.”
I Google How many Girl Scouts are in the US and the number is 1.7 Mil. (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=how+many+girlscouts+are+in+the+US )
According to the attached video, to make one mask takes 3 min. If the country mobilizes girl scouts and they work 3 hours making only 15 masks an hour, then we would get 76,500,000 masks a day.
Yet, our White House is relying on China? Hotels are laying off people, and they would be happy sewing masks, but we would rely on China?
Yet, we still have a shortage… Wow…
I guess if we had enough masks, the same officials, who today tell us we do not need them, would be insisting that every person wears them. Because it would help saving lives, would help us, the sacrificing population, to protect ourselves.
We are quite used to the President lying for any reason and without any reason. The trouble is that now people around him are also lying.
And saying that we do not need the masks is simply another lie.
So, what would I do if I were the President?
Well, I would mobilize the country to do something that so many could do. There are so many opportunities not to have a shortage of masks. Should girl scouts help, should we ask every retiree to get their sewing machine and start working? Should so many laid-off people start making these masks?
