During the first two weeks of March, COVID-19 concerns did not appear to impact the Charlotte region's housing market. Continued spread of the virus could well impact the housing market going forward... as to how much... it remains to be seen. Stay tuned for future updates.

 

Weekly Market Activity Report For The Week Ending March 7:

  • New Listings increased 9.6% year-over-year to 1,466
  • Pending Sales increased 17.7% year-over-year to 1,175
  • Inventory decreased 27.4% year-over-year to 7,105
  • Closings: 1,085

 

Weekly Market Activity Report For The Week Ending March 14:

  • New Listings increased 17.9% year-over-year to 1,429
  • Pending Sales increased 24.5% year-over-year to 1,341
  • Inventory decreased 28.1% year-over-year to 7,129
  • Closings: 1,068

I've had several clients decide to wait a bit till all this self-isolation is over... but I keep seeing homes come on the market... and yet buyers are also stepping back from going to see houses. Next week's numbers should prove interesting.
