As the coronavirus continues to plauge the world there are no doubt many, many questions regarding what is essential business and what is not. Naturally for any REALTOR, RAW (ready, willing & able) buyer and/or Motivated seller the answer is ...
I just received the following message and was a little unclear regarding us NJ Realtors and just was wondering...
Are we "essential business" or NAH?
Lets define essential: absolutely necessary; extremely important. SOUNDS LIKE US RIGHT??
We stimulate the economy with every set of keys we hand over... We rebuild communities and help those menacing eye sores vanish into thin air...
For crying out loud I was involved with a property that received 26 offers 3 weeks ago...
The market was booming and then came coronavirus...
Now many of us has/had deals that were close to closing that are now in limbo. A lot of us had buyers who are/were extremely motivated to get something in the very near future. Tons of us had scheduled meeting with sellers to discuss the option of listing their homes. To those folks it is essential that things move quickly. SOo0o0o0o0o0o0o the question is what are we to do now?
As a Real Estate in NJ & NY I am definitely in a tight situation where we had to shut our doors and take a few ticks to reevaluate everything. Do I personally feel like we are essential? Yes/No. In these times essential are medical physicians, first responders etc...is my showing really that important? For now we are going to hold off and not be in the way and hopefully in a matter of time we are back to moving and shaking.
Lastly, I want to say that where the housing market goes; the economy goes so I pray that we kick this viruses ass so we can get back to showing the world that WE ARE ESSENTIAL!
