Valencia Westridge is located in the Santa Clarita Valley and a part of the sphere of influence of the city of Santa Clarita. We live in the gate community within Westridge. Our homes are just a mile from Six Flags Magic Mountain, two miles from the Valencia Westfield Mall, less than a mile from the five freeway and only thirty-two miles from downtown Los Angeles.
The popularity of our community started due to being one of the safest communities of it’s size and escalated when it was noted as a one of the best places to live. The topper was when the news of the quality of our schools spread across the state.
We are best known for being the host of Six Flags Magic Mountain which also offers Hurricane Harbor Waterpark. We benefit from having three major golf courses and hosting the Nissan Open on our Valencia Country Club course. There is a major lake called Castaic Lake which is comprised of an upper lake for fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, and boating and a lower lake which offers swimming, picnics and play areas. Feeding the ducks is a great past time at the lake in the Winter.
Our Westfield Mall has an incredible food court and an IMAX Regal Ten-plex Theater. There is a Cheesecake Factory, Outback, Chili’s, and several other major chain restaurants. There are several local favorites such as Chi Chi’s Italian and La Cocina Mexican restaurants.
The standard of living is quite high in our community and people have a feeling of belonging. This is most likely due to the fact that people can find a home priced anywhere from $200,000 to $5,000,000. People don’t seem to judge others.
It can get quite hot here in the peak of the Summer with temperatures rising to 117 degrees on the hottest days. The sun is out on most days though. The community is clean and we are a tree city meaning that each house that is built needs to have a tree on the front of the home.
Teachers love working in our community as they can teach rather than monitor. The quality is quite high as the number that wish to work here has been elevated.
