Wordless Wednesday In Chesterbrook

Walking this morning I realized our nation park, Valley Forge has closed not just the parking lots but all the trails as well. Not sure how that is going to be enforced as there are so many ways to enter the park on foot. It did cut down on the people I came across, just one jogger and we gave each other a wide berth.

However, as I came home I realized the lack of cold weather, although today is chilly and wet, has really helped the Forsythia and Magnolias. They look amazing, the brightness of the Forsythia and the fullness of the Magnolia branches really lifts your spirits and gave me sothing to not only enjoy, but be grateful for today.

Hi Nick... what a lovely photo. I love forsythia and always regret its season of flowering is so short. I always have a magnolia tree in my yards... and fortunately in our climate here we can see ours flower almost year round.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel glad to hear you are still getting rain, filling up all those aquifiers and reservoirs.

Nina Hollander here we often get a late frost and invariably it affects the magnolias, so no sooner do they start to flower and bam, but so far things are looking good.

I used to live on the North side of a hill and everyone else's forsythia would be in strong bloom Sheila Anderson and ours would hardly have any color on it. This was gorgeous today.

Hi nick- isn't it fun seeing all the green popping up all over!!! Thankfully our parks are still open here. They've closed the playgrounds and basketball courts, but we can still get out to walk or jog.

Morning Nick.

In the long run, it will take Martial Law to lock-down the American people.  I don't see that happening

Sheila Anderson exactly, amazing how position against a wall, side of a hill can change the whole process even in the same area.

Kathy Streib I think people will find ways to use the park trails somehow, they just want social distancing which was not happening at the weekend.

I hope not James Dray I hope that people will realize they need to be sensible and take care of their and their communities health

Michael Jacobs plants and flowers are amazing, and their strength, coming up in the most amazing places, sometimes right through blacktop as well.

I could be wrong, but it seems like allowing people to get out for fresh air and sunshine would be beneficial, especially if people are making sure to distance themselves as advised.

Brian England the problem is they are not social distancing properly, and people don't step aside to give others room either. We are seeing cases increase in Chester County and the other counties around us, so the authorities do what they have to.

Roy Kelley I am still so used to Europe where you have so many public rights of way you can use. Here, land is private and you cannot cross, but in europe many of the rights of way give you permission to cross and date back often to the middle ages.
