Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 hi Nick... and it's not just the states, but different counties have different rules as well... at least here in NC.
Lise Howe hi Lise... a great way to put it... "unfathomable." Really beyond comprehension how we are living today.
Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... that's all we can do right now... the best we can. And look forward to a better tomorrow in the meantime.
Wow, that video was both informative and depressing for those us in our platinum years ![]()

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS hi Paul... after viewing that video I figured I'd just give up eating for the next few weeks!
Hi Nina-= very good video. I began watching it and will finish it after this. I did a lot of this when I brought my groceries in last weekend.

In California, San Francisco and 5 other bay area counties were the first to issue Shelter-in-Place mandate; a few days later the governor mandated it for the entire state. No in person real estate work is allowed. Rules change almost daily; impossible to say whether the mandate will become more restrictive, or might possibly allow 1-party showings of vacant properties.

Morning Nina.
I haven't been to the office in almost two weeks. Business is being done, but on a limited basis.

James Dray good morning, James... our office is shut down except to deliver checks or transaction papers that can't be emailed. We have been prohibited from doing any business that can't be done from our homes.
Lottie Kendall same here, Lottie... real estate agents cannot engage in any activity that can't be done from home. Hopefully, that rule might be adjusted, but for now, the next 21 days are virtual quarantine.
Kathy Streib hi Kathy... I thought that was one of the best videos I saw on grocery shopping yet. Glad you liked it.
Nina, We are in the same situation, but ours started over the weekend on Sunday evening. No Shows by anyone!

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila and Larry... not quite that "exclusive" club we ever wanted to beling to I should think! Stay well.
It is always difficult to decide what is essential and what is not since not everyone will have the same opinion on what is and isn't.

Brian England yes, that's true, Brina. But essentially we real estate brokers have been told by our county that what we do to serve our clients is not essential. I find it hard to deal with that. People's homes are usually their single largest investment... I personally would like to think that what we bring to the table in helping people buy or sell is more than a little essential in protecting their investment.

Hi Nina Hollander - I hope you are doing well. I am glad you broke down the type of RE services that are exempt. We are not on lockdown ...yet. I love the video you provided. Thank you!!!

This is good information to share.
All of us need to cope with the required changes.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® hi Sheri... I'm doing fine and trust that you are, as well. I have a feeling more and more areas will go to more of a lockdown situation. One of our adjoining counties just did this morning... I'm sure others will follow. That was a great video, wasn't it. Really opened my eyes.
Roy Kelley hi Roy... at the end of the day, that's all we can do is cope. Not too many other choices right now! :)
Nina I find it strange that Realtors would not be included. How do they expect home sales to continue, if Realtors/Agents can not show homes. Someone dropped the ball on that one.

George Souto it's beyond comprehension for me, personally, George. Hopefully we'll see a change, but I'm not holding my breath.
Nina, we had a new order that went into place this morning, and LOTS of confusion on if real estate was critical, and just got an updated order, stating real estate is still essential. I will not be showing or putting any new listings on, but getting those I current have pending to closing ONLY.

Joan Cox hi Joan... we had to wait almost two days, but ultimately the word came down that in my county real estate services are not essential services. No in-person showings, no open houses, no leaving the house... only services we can provide are those that we can do from our home.

Hi Nina, This is certainly an eye opener for many of us in this industry. We have a similar order here in San Antonio that went into yesterday. Our essential services did include home inspections, appraisals, and showings as long as we maintained social distancing. Even our title companies are closed except for sending out notary service to close clients.

Jerry Newman hi Jerry... every area is a bit different it seems. I think my county is about as extreme as any I've seen thus far, although NY is in the same boat as us with no in-person showings. But people are dying in NY and in NC we've had only one death thus far.
Interesting how different states are all coming up with different responses to what is essential and what is not.
