Thankful Thursdays...For Those Who Think Beyond Themselves
No one has been untouched by our current set of circumstances. I’ve been practicing social distancing when out at the grocery store and on our morning walks.
I have an additional type of social distancing I’m practicing now...I am socially distancing myself from the whiners and people who are suffering from PPM syndrome. (Poor Pitiful Me)
That said, I wanted to share with you some very uplifting stories/ideas I’ve read about recently:
#1 Someone on Nextdoor suggested that once we’re past this, instead of taking vacations outside the USA, let’s eat at our local restaurants and shop at our local small stores and retailers.
#2 Our local grocers have been working hard to keep their stores open and their shelves restocked. One person suggested that we return our carts in the space provided instead of making them hunt them down. It’s a small gesture but one that shows you care.
#3 A local designer who won Season 2 of Project Runway has repurposed her business and is making masks for healthcare workers and hospitals.
If you’re feeling a tad stressed or down in the dumps, the best thing you can do is to think of someone else. There’s always someone who is under more stress or more need than you are. See what you might do to make their day a little better.
A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead
