Here is just one example of a showing today. It was a new listing, and when I called to make the appointment, the property was already under contract, but the agent had just found out that the buyer lost their job and would not be able to proceed—good news for my buyer who had already lost one house.
The sellers had just moved out, and a cleaning crew scheduled for this afternoon. There was a Sentri-Lock on the front door. My buyer wanted to see it right away.
As much as I wanted to get this client into the house, it was not a good idea for me to show the property.
Let me put it another way. I promised my daughter not to show properties at this time.
One call to the team leader and I asked if there could be an exception like a code given to my buyer.
The agent responded to go ahead and schedule the appointment online, and he would get back to me.
Within minutes, the listing agent called.
They were first, going to make sure the cleaning crew was out and the house vacant.
This fantastic agent then went to the property, unlocked the door, sat in the car, and allowed my buyer to go in and tour the property. It only took a few minutes.
Because of this conversation, this exception, and this common-courtesy, there will be an offer made on this property.
We are hoping to close in thirty days.
This showing is an excellent example of professionals working together by having an exceptional listing agent available, a pre-qualified buyer, and a bit of common sense.
