This is a good time to have a sick cat - (if you must have a sick cat that is).
I'm thankful for the stay at home order on our island of Maui, since I'm stuck at home nursing a very old and sick cat anyway. He was mauled by a dog, and missing for 2 weeks. When we found him he was weak and thin, but so happy to be found and brought home. He purred and spoke, and after a few days has recovered a lot.. eating, drinking, and yes even pooping. All the important things. Mainly he is resting and gaining his strength every day so that when the time comes he can enjoy some sunshine and green grass again.
Stay home and stay safe! Too bad Wally the cat didn't listen to this advice.
Caring for this injured cat really makes me focus on something else besides the 24/7 news coverage of the pandemic - which is hard to turn away from. And helping him to feel better, makes me feel better, which should be a good immune booster, so we're both winners.
While I don't wish a sick pet or human on any of us, there is a positive side to being able to help others. Taking care of others is a great way to keep busy, and realize how lucky you are.
I truly appreciate all the selfless caregivers and medical workers who are working their butts off now to help us all get through this. We can help them by keeping away from others.
Please let's all stay home and stay safe.
