What you do now will change your business for the future, as we navigate through these unprecedented times dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. What steps are planning to do now with the "Stay at Home" order that has been given in many states? How are you going to do business with the new social distance requirement since our real estate profession has always been a people business with engagement?
I would imagine that more brokers and agents will start utilizing Face Time, Skype, or Zoom to conduct a large part of their business that requires engagement to stay within the boundaries of "Being Safe", and at the same time still provided the much needed services to all their clients and consumers. I know that video chats with Apps like WhatsApp will become more popular with many REALTORS®, brokers and agents. If you aren't already using video emails, it might be a great time to start just to keep that face to face contact alive.
Facebook, Instagram or Google Ads might be another way of reaching potential customers for future business too. This would be a great time to beef up your online presence and other online marketing strategies. Remember direct mail is still a good way to reach potential customers and also a good way to stay in touch with past clients or your sphere.
Agents can come up with creative ideas with sellers by doing virtual listing presentations, and offering more virtual tours for buyers. If sellers are concern about others entering their homes, perhaps, sellers could take their own photos or do a video walk through to send to their agents to edit and to post on YouTube and other media outlets. Some agents might even want to do video tours of the outside of the property and the neighborhood, just to stay engaged with the buyers for future business.
No doubt we are being force to go more into the digital world to provide a much needed service to all our clients, sellers or buyers. We are already providing buyers and sellers access to our websites, and many buyers are already receiving listing alerts as new properties become available in our present "seller's market" that we are still experiencing in San Antonio and Bexar County, TX.
Banks and even our Title Escrow Companies are now providing online digital services via electronic signatures, online notary, drive through services, etc. since office visits are not allowed for at least another two weeks. Naturally, agents will play a large role in educating the general pubic on how to use the digital tools and resources to help everyone maintain the safety precautions and social distancing.
This "Dig In Time" may prompt many of us to start blogging again. Blogging is still an excellent way to educate and to keep our clients informed on real estate activities that may be useful for any consumer. Staying in touch has taken on a whole new meaning, as we can also ask our past clients for online reviews if they haven't already submitted one.
