Sunday Funday

For twenty years Sundays have been family day for us. Because we both work out of the home and homeschool we see a LOT of each other. If I stay home the temptation to work, clean, and prep is very strong so in order to make sure that I adhere to having some family time Sundays have been spent outside of our home for a very very long time.

Because family day is spent differently than it will be this week and next I thought I would take a moment and throw out some ideas to make today a Sunday Funday for the whole family. I don't know exactly how this week will look for us except that we will be joining our church family for an online service in the morning to get the day rolling. From there? Who knows... but it might look something like this:

If it's sunny:
- Dig out the tent and set it up in the yard for an afternoon nap
- Have a bonfire and burn up all the twigs we collected Saturday and roast marshmallows (yum, s'mores!)
- Enjoy hamburgers on the grill
- Set up the hammock and enjoy a good book in the sunshine while the kids jump on the trampoline
- Set up a blanket and have a picnic and play a board game
- Turn up the tunes and have a dance party on the lawn
- Take a nature walk/hike/stroll
- Drop goodies off in all the neighbors newspaper boxes 'just for fun'
- Get out the basketball and play at the hoop (or the badmitten net)(or the ping pong table)
- Head out on a bike ride

If it's rainy:
- Serve the kids breakfast in bed
- Set up the airmattress in the living room and watch a movie
- Drag out the wii and set up dance party
- Bake cookies with the kids (and deliver some of them to the neighbors newspaper boxes)
- Dig out the board games and enjoy a round of Monopoly
- Take a drive in the coutryside
- Get out the craft supplies and make something together (painted rocks or cards for seniors)
- Write a song and put it to music
- Start the fireplace and roast marshmallows indoors
- Cook a gormet dinner and serve it over candlelight with music

This is a short list of a bunch of ideas. I'd love to hear what your Sunday Funday at home will entail! We are all in this together - though on our separate journeys. So tell me... how do you plan to spend your day?

Step outside and get some fresh air if you can! The spring is almost here and some of the spring flowers are already in bloom, enjoy them

How wonderful. These are great ideas for a fun-filled day, regardless of the weather. We've been doing a lot of work on our property and I was just thinking that because today is Sunday we should just do something fun. I'm not sure what yet!
