If you feel as though you have been cooking 355 meals a day, you are not alone. Prior to the Coronavirus pandemic we grew accustom to food on the go, casual sit down dinners at our favorite places and even the occasional fine dining experience. Now, more than ever our local diners and restaurants need our help. They are always there for us when we need them. After a long day. After a hot day. After the going to the grocery store is the last thing I want to do kind of day.
Small businesses especially can get into trouble in times like this. It becomes more concerning when rumors begin to swirl like the virus being transmitted through food. Right now any business considered essential and permitted to operate their business, even on a limited scale, are subject to very strict guidelines imposed by the CDC and the FDA. Currently, there is no evidence that suggests COVID-19 can be transmitted to a person through food. With every safety precaution being taken, it is highly unlikely you will contract COVID-19 by supporting your small business eatery through pick up or delivery. In some cases delivery options are also " No contact with driver " whereas your delivery is essentially ordered, paid for ( including tip) online and then left at your door with notification by knock or doorbell by the driver. Most are even arriving in gloves, however each establishment can set their own guidelines for delivery drivers.
