I'm sure that all your potential buyers and sellers appreciate that you are giving them valuable about the market. This too shall pass.

Barbara Todaro good morning, Barbara... no one can predict anything with total certainty, but what will come to pass is way more nuanced than many people realize.
Eva B. Liland Century 21 Doug Anderson good morning, Eva... mostly, I want to make sure people are panicking for the sake of panic. No good decisions are made about anything when that happens.

Sheila Anderson hi Sheila... there are enough people out there predicting doom and gloom... and nothing is ever that black or white. We need to keep clients and friends from panicking and letting people hear more than one side of a story.

Hi Nina Hollander,
Homeowners will be looking to us for answers and each of us needs to know how this is affecting our market.
For example, Those coming from very infected states may think it is time to get out and move to states where population is more spread out.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® good morning, Sheri... I have no doubt that people who live in places like NYC, LA, SF, etc. will be looking to move once this is behind us.
Many home sales and home purchases are currently being deferred. Real estate professionals will be very busy when the pandemic is over.

Roy Kelley hi Roy... I would tend to agree with you on this assessment. Assuming interest rates remain low, people will want to buy.

Nina,
I can understand that your clients want reasurrances which is why you wrote this post. However, in any climate there are always opportunites. And the majority of experts are busy selling themselves rather than the facts, and the gloomier the facts are colored the better they sell...A

The most important thing to keep in mind is this too shall pass. We are grateful for the ability to weather this and know we will be selling houses again in the future. There may be new opportunities out there.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel that's an excellent point, Alexandra. Right now is not the time to "sell" myself... it's the time to keep clients and prospects from panicking and making stupid decisions because they did.
George Souto hi George... for someone who survived the Great Recession, I think this will end up looking like a piece of cake.
Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD hi Debb... that was exactly my point in doing this post... that things may not be as bad as they seem right at this moment.
Nina,
I know you have the best of intentions for your clients, and I hope they listen to you with both ears. Cheers A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... I keep feeding them little bits of information every few days... so they can absorb it and think about it. At least with my own clients I've found they are very willing to listen, ask questions, engage.

James Dray good morning, James... my money is on May in my market... we are in an under shelter in place till end of April and in Charlotte and my county, we are even more restricted till mid-April in that we can do nothing in real estate that takes us out of our houses... and all we can do now is hope the county doesn't extend this to end of April, as well.
Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS no doubt about that, Paul. My message was there to let people know that doom and gloom is not necessarily their destiny for a number of reasons.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila and Larry... let's face it... any idiot with a license can open doors to houses. It's this other stuff that are the real value we bring to our relationships.

Ricki Eichler McCallum hi Ricki... I agree with you... there's still pent up demand and a lack of inventory. I don't think that will go away.
Good morning, Nina Hollander when a recession hits, those who are on the edge financially will need to sell.... or they will probably lose their property.... listing inventory improves and is priced to sell.... buyers who are financially stable will buy them.... single family, condos and multi's.... real estate agents who have a presence in the marketplace will make a score.... when one takes a financial loss, someone is always there to pick up the ball and run...
