Is this home clean enough to allow buyers inside?

I stopped by to see a seller who has been thinking of selling. He wanted to know what else he could do to make his condo show better. He also wanted to make sure his condo was free of germs.

Staying 6 feet away, he yelled "open" when i rang the bell. He had a RING doorbell so he knew it was me. I walked in and got the shock of my life.

There he was cleaning his kitchen's granite counters. Why was i shocked. He was using a Lysol Toilet wand. Should I laugh, what, why, who, what again....???? We were a good 6 feet apart as we discussed the sale of his condo. Should he wait? Should he list now? As we spoke he scrubbed away....

He then confessed every store was out of wipes and out of cleaner, but he found the toilet wand. It has bleach and should work, right?

IN SUMMARY this seller was really out of his comfort zone selling his condo. He purchased it with a girlfriend who you could say predictably left. Now wants her half. Therefore he has to sell despite the uncertain times. He was happy i came. he was happy i gave him real answers. In the end he needs to wait to sell. He needs a place to go. The condo still needs some work to get ready to get the top price. But he is heading in the right direction.

THE BOTTOM LINE is to know how important it is that every Buyer or Seller should not just choose any agent, choose the BEST agent for the job. Having an agent that works for you is a must. Support your local businesses.

My philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.

Hello Scott - it's good that you came to the scene when you did although maybe he should have called earlier.  I am sure you will advise him appropriately.  Good luck.  And lots of it.

I don't think that's the best thing to use on granite counters! But I'm sure they were clean when he was done.

The thing is, if he did not procasternate last month Eva B. Liland Century 21 Doug Anderson  , he could have beat this virus and been on the market and sold. I think he hoped to get back together but reality has set in in more than 1 way

That is for sure Kat Palmiotti but it looked better, now to clean the rest of the home where she took her things and the mess was left behind.

As a real estate industry pro ... sometimes there are just things that we are better off not knowing, Scott Godzyk.  You can't unsee that toilet wand ... yikes!

When I started in my real estate empire, I worked REO. My clothes smelled so bad I had a special designated section I would disrobe in the garage. Even the cleaners refused to take them.

Those tablets were no match for that smell..

Happy Wednesday Scott Godzyk

One of the reasons I have always loved real estate as a career, is the number of different folks we run into during the course of our activities.  No two clients are ever alike, and the experiences they give us, like cleaning counters with a toilet wand, are unforgettable!

Hi Scott- I'm still amazed at what he was using on his countertops. However, at least he knew the importance of cleanliness.

At least I hope it was a clean brush when he started using it on his counters!

I am not planning on selling my house for a while but I started cleaning my oven last night - and even my grill - I haven't cleaned my oven probably in 10 years - but it is much cleaner now - Next I am going to start counting flowers on the wall and playing solitaire till dawn with a deck of 51!
