Around the World in How Many Days?

Writing a post is one thing.  Determining which Groups are the best fit for a particular topic is another.  Both of these things I have come to feel fairly comfortable doing.

Now comes the tricky part.

What do I do about that Localism.com option?  This is where I sometimes tend to hesitate.  Is there anything posted that gives a little insight into what to check off?  I realize that it will vary from post to post.  I am just trying to get some generalizations.

When I go to Localism.com I do not find things I have sent to it.  Well, I take that back.  I have found some things there that I wrote back in November.  Really, I have many more posts than just those three or four.

Sometimes I select General Information under Localism and other times I click on About a Region which then gives me the chance to finally select Lake Anna in Virginia.

The Globe

If I cannot find my posts there is it because they are circumventing the globe taking their sweet old time before finally coming to rest in my neighborhood?

Or are they lost, never to be found?

Is it a big thing?  I do not know if it matters or not.  I just know that I recall reading lots of stuff about posting to Localism.com.

Anyone that can give me some guidance will receive a big thank you from me...and lots of comments.

I usually post to Localism, because that's what I'm blogging about... my local neighborhoods and towns and stuff.  I usually check  ABOUT A REGION, unless it's an upcoming EVENT. like a film festival or parade.  If it's a new store opening, sometimes it will go under NEWS or ABOUT A REGION.  For MARKET REPORTS, I'll post a recent sold listing, or what sold year to date, that kind of thing.  A new listing of mine will get the ADVERTISING A LISTING treatment unless I can spin it another way, and just put in in general info.  I can usually find them ( when I used to check) because my market was pretty wide open when I got here.

What I'm curious about is the other string of options... I always just click on ACTIVE RAIN.  Do you click on the others?

I heard you're an e-Pro!  Congratulations.

KATHLEEN - Localism is still in Beta.  It is one of the projects that AR is working on, but cannot focus on that until all of the AR bugs are fixed.  I continue to post to Localism as well, but I know that it is not going to do much until it is fixed.

For the longest time when I was posting a listing under "listing by address" I was getting an error that said I could not post to a professional category.  Within the past couple of months I have been able to still post it for some reason.  Localism is a neat idea and I am sure over time it will continue to improve.

Kathleen, Localism has not been updated for some time unfortunately.  I imagine whenever it is you will start coming up again but I have noticed the same thing.

Kathleen, I guess I had not paid attention to this.  I do know my individual localism post often shoot to the top.  I wrote about a new movie theatre and my post beats their website.  I finally put something on it that said click here for ticket information and at least I'm not getting as many phone calls now.  The advertising guy is coming in to town and taking me out to lunch though and also giving me some free tickets.  Pretty cool, huh.

My posts have always shown up in the right place, but, so far I have only posted to Athens, Ga. I am not sure how localism features posts because some of my most recent are a couple pages behind some of my older. Even when I first post, it may show up on the second or third page.

Oh, and I have actually gone around the world; in 37 days.
