A little ripple...

Real Estate Agent with Edina Realty

Not unlike thousands of Minnesotans in this beautiful spring weather I set aside my paperwork for a couple of hours today and put on my walking shoes. Governor Walz encouraged us to head outdoors to enjoy the fresh air and to take a moment to breathe the fresh air and for that we can be grateful. In fact, each day this week I have been trying to head outdoors for a bit. To clear the cobwebs, to clear the constant voices (news), and to gain perspective.

About a half mile from our house the river crosses the road thru a culvert and I love walking to that very spot and enjoying the changing scenery as the days pass thru the seasons. As the water flows in the springtime it is full of promise. It flows high and with great energy. It promises to bring green grass and beautiful foliage, wildlife to drink of it's freshness, and fish.

As I walking by today I heard a fish jump. I stopped in my tracks and turned to see it. Though I didn't see the fish itself I saw it. I saw the center of the circle where he jumped... and I saw the ripples.

In a river that only flows one direction I watched as the ripples of that fishy splash changed the course of the whole river. The ripples cirlced out from that spot and bumped the water into a whole new flow. Even long after the fish was gone the effects were left swirling in the water. Circle upon growing circle upon growing circle the evidence was there.

I can't help but stop a minute and consider the moments we are having in our ever changing atmostphere. With fear palpable in the air and panic swirling like the wind, what will my voice be? Will I be the fish? Will my reaction change the atmosphere? Or will I swim in the river and follow it's quick flowing course and direction? In the books of history who will I be? Who will I be in the this story being written as we live each day.

It has give me a lot to ponder. But, now I ask? Who will you be?

Hello Lindsay - getting out and enjoying the simplest of pleasures can lead to more than just pondering.  But pondering is a good start and can lead in many different directions.
