Guillermo González Camarena was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico back in 1917 to Arturo and Sara.  I do not and could not find out any information about his early childhood or education.  What I can tell you is at 17 he applied and received a U.S. patent (2.296.019).  Apparently, he had formal education as my sources states he was a Mexican electrical engineer.

So, let us get to the point.  He used the invention first in 1946.  He also applied for additional patents in 1960 and again in 1962.  He died in an automobile accident in1965, he was 48.

What you may not know about Guillermo is that his invention was the color-wheel type of color television, he also introduced color television to the world according to my sources.

Having grown up with no color tv and, in fact, not even owning one until I was 30 years old, I can totally appreciate this man's contribution to my tv viewing pleasure these days!

How could we live in today's world without a color television, haha.  TV rules the roost in a lot of homes.

That is a pretty big invention. Kind of sad he did not get to really enjoy the fruits of his labor.
