An Australian marketer named Graham McGregor writes a daily email – all about marketing, of course. Yesterday he wrote that he’d gotten feedback from one subscriber who unsubscribed because he’s still writing about making sales – and advising people on how to make money.
That subscriber believed he should instead write about how we can give – as in give products away for free, give money, etc.
Do you agree? Should we all stop trying to make a living and just give?
My feeling is that yes, we should try to help others. However, if we made that our only activity, soon we’d be the ones seeking help. Unlike the government, we can’t print more money – we can’t give what we don’t have.
If you’re in a lockdown state, you can’t go list and show houses, but there are plenty of
other things you can do to advance your career.
This week I started a series of posts on my CopybyMarte blog to address the issue. If you’re wondering what to do that’s useful for your career, I invite you to come and read.
And… even though I am completely tired of hearing about it, I also wrote a set of CVID-19 letters, with the theme of “This too shall pass.”
These are short letters you can send to your listing prospects, letting them know the ways you can still help them. Letters 4 & 5 in the set suggest things they can do to be ready when the crisis passes – because at that time there should be a pent up demand for homes.
Because I fervently hope that these letters will only be useful for a short while, I kept the price way low. So if you'd like something to send to those listing prospects, come check them out.
