A Remote Retirement Dinner

My brother-in-law Dave Roos just retired from Hughes Network Systems and his retirement party had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus restrictions.

We received a surprise visit by Dave and my sister Wynne. They delivered the fixings for a complete steak dinner from salad to dessert for chef Dolores to prepare for us at home. Wynne and Dave had the same dinner at their home. Social distancing does provide some challenges. Everything was delicious!

We hope to have another celebration together after the pandemic restrictions have been cancelled.

Hello Roy - first, congratulations to your brother-in-law on his retirement.  Second, it is amazing how the creativity of people is being exhibited with unique and interesting ways of staying in-touch while being apart?  This remote party is yet another example.

Special celebrations are facing challenging times, Roy.  I still wonder how Rice University will handle my grandson's graduation there later next month.  I received a link to be able to watch it on-line.
