Restaurants, Bakeries and Markets still open during Covid

Many local restaurants are remaining open for take out and allow you to pay over the phone. A few shops have implemented brand new delivery or curbside pickup, or are coming up with other creative ways to service you safely.

Sweet Dreams Ice Cream has been taking their custom firetruck on a tour of Gainesville. The tour schedule is being posted on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Sweet-Dreams-of-Gainesville-FL-27190023663

Uppercrust Bakery has been offering call-in service and curbside pick up. Local delivery is a brand new service that they just launched this week: https://www.facebook.com/uppercrustproductions

Northwest Seafood, located next door to Uppercrust, is also offering curbside pick up for orders called-in and paid for over the phone: https://www.facebook.com/Northwestseafoodinc

Wyatt's coffee is staying open and operating as usual, but they have also added delivery service on Friday recently: https://www.facebook.com/wyattscoffee

Luke's New York Bagels: Luke's is brand new to Gainesville and it is unfortunate that they just opened during a pandemic. However, they have been able to service many customers and are open for their walk-up window as well as for pre-orders. For information on how to pre-order, visit their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/lukesnybagels

Fehrenbacher's Artisan Sausage is still open and they will allow you to call in your order and pay over the phone to minimize your time in the shop during picking up your order. Check out their daily lunch specials and a variety of fresh and frozen meat, bone broth, fresh cheese, vegetarian burgers and more: https://www.facebook.com/fehrenbachersartisansausages

Grocery delivery: We recently tried Instacart for the first time for grocery delivery. We placed a large order with Publix and Fresh Market and found the service invaluable. For those who wish to avoid the grocery store, Instacart has a variety of stores that you can shop at and a wide service area in Gainesville. Please remember to provide a thoughtful amount when it comes to tipping as these shoppers are having to stand in line to get into the grocery store on top of the usual shopping they do. We will definitely use this service again.

If you're a local business owner and would like your curbside or to-go service to be added to this list, please email me at Gainesvillepro at yahoo dot com.
