No doubt your in boxes like ours are full of the latest information, advice, and knowledge. There are days, when what I want to do is just delete everything (other than those directly pertaining to our work). I am experiencing, information overload! Information overload feels like more doingness and less beingness. And I want to say, stop the world, I want to get off!
As I picked up the book. Stillness Speaks, this morning which both Ron and I read in small bits and paragraphs as the author Eckhart Tolle recommends, I read, "Do you need more knowledge?"
And, here is the rest of that paragraph.
Is more information going to save the world, or faster computers, more scientific or intellectual analysis? Is is not wisdom that humanity needs most at this time?
But what is wisdom and where is it to be found? Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions.
In this time of what may be interpreted as a global enforced stillness (the world figuratively has stopped), we all would benefit from going with the flow and be still.
PS. I liked this beach sculpture, it reminded of an abstract of a Masai warrior...What is your interpretation.?
