Real Estate Agents Are REAL People

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX 4000 FA100032580

Our job description is "Real Estate Agent"....the first word "REAL" is who we are and what we are.  We are REAL people helping our community buy and sell homes.  When disaster strikes no matter what it is, a tornado, hurricane or the Covid-19 virus, real estates agents are there to help.  We are there at Christmas with a toy drive for those in need.  We are there sponsoring a blood drive, we are there supporting local events, hosting a brunch for teachers and stocking the food bank. Real Estate agents being REAL people who care about the community they serve.

The buyers we have under contract are counting on us to protect the transaction and make sure it closes.  We have had conversations with our sellers explaining the options available to either continue to show their home or take it off the market.  Our office is featuring all our listings on their Facebook page and one of the photographers was available to do Matterport 3D tours. Matterport tours are as good as seeing a house in person.  We are reassuring our community that the real estate business is continuing and if they are interested in buying or selling we are available.

But that is not all we are doing......we are continuing to serve our clients and our community in this time of need.  I have a Facebook business page with over 8500 followers.  Because the local events I use to highlight are canceled, I repost the local restaurants daily specials,  how to do curbside pickup etc.  The restaurants and business are struggling right now and the community can help by ordering takout and buying gift cards to use when they are open again.

In the neighborhood where I live, the builder's real estate agents sent out a letter to all the residents offering to pick up groceries, medicine or other things that somone may need. My next door neighbor has difficulty walking and uses a walker,  every Wednesday evening I take her trash can to the curb for her.

To let people know they can still look for a home online, I created this graphic and posted it to my social media sites.

This was my first visit to your blog post and I must say I was impressed. Some new companies think agents can be replaced by an algorithm. This virus situation should answer  a lot of questions...

Happy Tuesday Sandra Mathewson .

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS  Thank you for stopping by and reading my post and commenting.  The virus answers many questions and one was answered today "Is working for a brokerage as a salaried real estate agent a good choice"?  The news gave us the answer.

Thank you Paul

Sandra, it is interesting to read your post and how you are helping your neighbors and the community. I remember how impressed I was reading your post from many years ago about the Facebook following you had created with local events posting, and now I can see how you are adapting to the new situation - providing helpful info on restaurant specials, curbisde pickups etc. Always pleasant to read your posts.
