Wordless Wednesday...Construction On Hold

 

Larry and I did a very early morning walk yesterday in an effort to avoid any crowds. We also decided to go a little bit off our usual path (the paved path) and venture into a more wooded area. 

 

We came upon some construction by the Eagle Scouts that has been put on hold.

I can’t wait to see what the Nature Playscape will be when they’re allowed to complete their project. The Eagle Scouts were the ones who erected the bluebird boxes that Larry and I have been monitoring as well as the benches we see along the paths. 





 I still remember the entire Boy Scout motto. I don't remember the serial number of my gun in the army. I don't remember the number of my locker in school. But I remember that Boy Scout code. Tommy Lasorda

As a die hard Giant fan, I must say who is Tommy Lasorda?  Did he do something important?  Just kidding.  You can't have great sports memories without great adversaries and he was one of the best.  I bet his Boy Scout Training had a big part in shaping his character and his work ethic.  (Hint-Bruce Bochy has some even better quotes )

Ha remember my locker in HS?  Not a chance!

 

It will be fun to see what the Eagle Scouts finished project looks like when they're allowed to continue.  I enjoy seeing kids create good stuff for their communities.  Great learning platform on many levels.  It's how so many of us became leaders early on in life.

I don't remember my H.S. locker number but I do remember my phone number from when I was a kid as well as the grocery store phone number that my parents ran.

Sharon Lee me too, Sharon.... still know my childhood phone number by heart. Also my Paris phone number because I had to memorize it in French.  All the rest of my numbers... not so much except for my current cell phone.

Kathy one of the requirements for an Eagle Scout project is involvement from the rest of the Troop.  So with the stay at home mandate, and social distancing in place right now, it makes since the project would be put on hold.  I bet it will look great when it is completed.

Donald Urschalitz no locker????!!!  wow I remember having a locker and I have a friend or two who can remember their combination to the lock.

Brian England I was very cautious because snakes are out now.

I hadn't considered the fact that many Eagle Scout projects are likely on hold.  One of my grandsons is an Eagle Scout.  I know how important this can be.
