DON'T Hold the Presses!

News paper

It was just announced that the two largest newspapers in North Dakota are going to cut back on the number of days they issue a printed publication. Gone are Monday and Friday's additions due to lack of revenue caused by advertisers withdrawing during the Corona virus pandemic.

I love the newspaper, it has been part of my life since I was about 10 years old and delivered "The Midweek" (an advertising rag in Fargo/Moorhead) and Grit Newspaper. The Minot Daily news is not joining in on this cutback... yet. However we did recently lose our Sunday edition (not related to the virus).

If you are a local I hope you will support The Minot Daily News and encourage them to keep the presses rolling.

Hi Bob... our Charlotte Observer is such dreck...it lost tons of readers and advertising. They cut out the Saturday edition before the COVID crisis. I refuse to read the paper, but it's still delivered because my husband likes to read a "real" paper in the mornings. I keep telling him this is no longer a "real" paper except for the fact that it's printed.

Nina Hollander it sounds like the Charlotte Observer has gone the route of "trash journalism" that many papers have gone these days. The Minot Daily is still very objective and reports both sides accurately so I truly enjoy reading it. That being said it takes a whole lot less time to read it these days.

Papers like our local restaurants need help and support right now, or we will all be mulling over what happened to.....fill in the blank. I miss it.

Me too Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 , we are losing a lot of "Americana". We have also had several hotels close in the last month.

"Where There's a Will, There's a Way!"

Hello Bob,   The Denver area use to have the Denver Post and Rocky Mountin news, now we are down to the only the Denver Post and it keeps getting smaller and smaller.  Not they raise the price to $84 a month. So we just said goodbye to them and get it on line for a lower price.

It's to bad that they are dying off Will Hamm . Truth is I think much of the damage is self inflected with stupid moves like cutting back and raising prices.
