Is there a lack of lighting in the parking lot outside of your business right now? If so, it could very well be hurting your company’s bottom line.

The fact that you don’t have enough lighting in your parking lot could make it appear as though your business is closed once the sun goes down. But before you make an investment in outdoor pole lights, here are things you should consider.

How Many Outdoor Light Poles Do You Need?

Are you buying outdoor light poles to illuminate a parking lot that’s designed to hold about a dozen cars, or are you buying them to light up a parking lot that’s designed to hold hundreds of cars?

Your answer to this question will play a big part in helping you determine how many outside pole lights you actually need. If you don’t install enough lights in your parking lot, they’re not going to do you a whole lot of good.

Do You a Have a Specific Style of Light Poles in Mind?

Once upon a time, there weren’t many styles for business owners to choose from when it came to investing in outdoor light poles. The vast majority of light poles used to be made primarily out of wood.

But these days, there are lots of different light pole styles for business owners to pick from. Wood is, of course, still one of the most popular materials used to make light poles. But there are also steel light poles, fiberglass light poles, and aluminum light poles if you would prefer one of them.

Would You Like Your Light Poles to Hold More Than One Light?

Are you interested in trying to cut down on the number of outdoor light poles that you’ll need for your parking lot without compromising on the amount of light you’ll be able to provide for it?

One option you might have is sticking anywhere from two to four individual lights on each outdoor light pole. There are accessories that you can buy that will allow you to hang multiple lights on a single light pole.

How Strong Do You Need Your Light Poles to Be?

If your business is located in a part of the country that’s often subjected to bad weather, you’ll want to keep this in mind when buying outdoor light poles. You don’t want to install light poles that aren’t going to be able to tolerate the local weather patterns.

In theory, buying new outdoor light poles for your business might seem like it would be a simple enough task, right? But as you’ve seen, there are so many factors that you’ll need to consider before pulling the trigger and purchasing light poles.

Start by deciding how many light poles you need and what height you want them to be. From there, look at the different light pole styles and think about what kind of lighting you want in them. Create a budget for your light poles, too, so that you don’t put your business into a tough financial spot.
