Spring is coming and many people are doing spring cleaning. A lot of people are also looking to freshen up their homes by adding or changing a few of their decorations.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money on this. There are simple and practical decoration ideas that would provide a fresh look to your house.
Bring in the Mirrors
Believe it or not, adding mirrors inside your house can make the space brighter, larger, and more expensive. Yes, your house will look like a million-dollar house by putting a lot of mirrors. Not too much though as you don’t want your house to look silly with too many mirrors.
What you can do is to add vertical mirrors in your house and add a bit of design around its edges. It may look simple, but it would provide a different vibe to your house.
Carpets and Rugs
If you think that the current design of your interior is already satisfying, you can get a carpet and tie all of them down together.
Carpets and rugs can be a great addition to your living room as it would make the design complete. Even if you have the best decorations, it will still feel a bit dull without adding carpets and rugs.
Home Accessories
Adding some home interior accessories can also brighten up the mood inside your house. Here are some of the decorations that you can add:
- Lighting: Don’t focus too much on artificial lighting. You have to concentrate on natural lighting as it provides a fresh vibe in your house. Use curtains that won’t block the natural light.
- Wall art: Adding some wall art in the walls would provide an artistic vibe to your house. Instead of using paintings, you can use wall art instead. You can even use this to accentuate a specific artwork in your house.
Add Greens
One of the best ways to freshen up your house is to add some plants inside. Most people don’t like adding plants, but it provides a fresher look to the interior of your house. Aside from that, plants can make the air inside fresher as they will absorb the carbon dioxide in the air.
You don’t have to put a lot of greens inside the house. Adding at least two or three plants would suffice.
Remove Other Stuff from your Shelf Display
Most of you would say that the shelf should be a place where you can put a wide variety of stuff as it serves as a storage space. In a sense, you are right, but putting a bit of space on the shelf display can make the area a bit larger and it would turn into a stylish display.
Use your Kids’ Drawings
Your kids probably love to draw and color things. You can use them as decorations in your house to freshen it up a bit. Instead of using a work of art on one side of the wall, use that as a place where the drawings of your kids can be placed. Put them on a frame so they won’t look bad once they are placed on the wall.
Change Pillow Case
Change your pillowcase once in a while and use light colors as it can make the area look fresh and lively. You can use pillowcases with flowery designs as they can match almost any style of interior.
Change your Furniture
If you are planning to do an overall renovation of your interior, change all your furniture. If they are already old and worn out, no matter what decoration you add, it will not look great as the furniture is already too old or damaged.
Instead of just adding a few decorations, change the furniture and get a new one.
Declutter
The most basic thing about home decoration is to remove the clutter around the house. If you are going to do a general home cleaning, then you will have to remove all of the unnecessary things that are lying around your house.
Anything that you don’t really need should be kept or thrown out. Don’t leave anything unwanted lying around the house, especially in the areas that are always exposed like shelves, tables, and more.
Change the Color of your Front Door
If you can’t find anything that you want to change inside the house, paint your front door. Adding a bit of life on your front door will surely be a good start as it would accentuate the decoration inside the house.
There are so many things that you change or add in your house that would change its look. You just have to figure out the style that you want and it will not be too difficult to freshen up the look of your home.
