I do not know the percentages, but lets talk about being safe versus being scared to death. I have been speaking to many would be sellers. Some who were on the market and pulled their listings. Some who had planned to list this spring who are now waiting. Then those who need to sell but are not sure if they should.
Being safe is a must. Taking pre-cautions are a must. For this conversation based here in NH, Real Estate is essential. People are urged to stay at home but it is not a lock down. If home owners want or need to sell. We can do that. There are buyers out there. Actually, a great deal of buyers still looking and waiting for new listings. NH is not hit as hard as some areas and or states where you should stay inside no matter what.
What am I finding? First off a majority of people are scared to death. They will not venture outside. Many do not know "the real facts" regarding this virus. Yes, it is serious. Here in NH most homes have a yard, most big yards with no people around. But some real life examples are people who will not go outside because they think it is in the air. It is not "just in the air". It is actually good for people to go outside in their yards, get some air and sunshine. You can work in your yard. We all know social distancing. What we do not know is that some people take the news literally. One fact is the news is trying to scare you, it is what they do. Sensationalism is the rule of the day for newscasters.
I love getting questions about the market and the virus. It opens conversations. It lets me meet new people. It allows me to show them my expertise. I can offer options, ideas and give facts about our market. Whether it is selling know, or getting plans in place to sell when the virus scare is over. I can do both.
