A Very Rainy Friday in Carlsbad - Our Waterfall

A Rainy Friday in Carlsbad - Our Waterfall

We've had a LOT of rain this week. While we have seen the sunshine here and there for a few hours, we've had rain and cloudy, gray weather every day since last Sunday.

The rain was heaviest last night and went on for hours, causing some flooding in low-lying areas including the 78 freeway. Our local waterfall in the canyon in back of our house reminded me of the waterfalls in Kaua'i and Maui...well, sort of.

No argument from me, although I would prefer to be looking at one in Kaui'i or Maui than from my rainy back yard!

Have a good weekend!

Good morning Jeff. Rain is good if it is in balance. And seldom it is. Either too much or too little. That said, like you waterfall! Enjoy your day!

Hi Jeff... when I first took a look at your photos, the first think I thought of was Hawaii. Hopefully, you';; be enjoying sunny days again soon. We've had great sunny weather here in Charlotte all week, but I think some serious rain will be moving in for Easter Sunday.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - I am sure that the rain is most welcome in Southern California although not the flooding.

I love the look of waterfalls and we get such little rain here that when it does rain and waterfalls are created, I enjoy taking pictures of the scene.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - I bet you are delighted to see rain.  Of course, not so much that low lying areas get flooded.  Have a great Easter.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - We are getting the rain today. It seems more like Good Friday than Holy Saturday. Yesterday it was sunny and the weather was perfect. However, I don't think I will ever complain about the weather anymore.

Take care!!!

Are you sending this rain over to the East Coast? I'm seeing lots of it in our forecast for next weekend. Stay dry, and continue to see the beauty in all. Happy Easter Jeff Dowler, CRS

Hi James Dray  - I had no idea!!Fun!

So true Wayne Martin I haven't wanted to complain since we have needed it, but now I think we are past. Of course now we'll probably go for months without any at all and have a drought again.

Grant Schneider So true. It often seems that it's heavy rain and it does cause problems. And there was snow in our mountains.

Enjoy your weekend!

Jeff, when the news was talking about our incoming winter storm, they said it was from your storms that brought so much rain to southern CA.

Hi George Souto

Unfortunately the way things cycle here is that the rains cause lots of vegetation to grow,  then it dries out when we don't have rain, and then we get the heat and winds which cause the fires. But at least we do not currently have to worry about drought conditions.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr.

I'm not surprised the weather was similar! I'm ready for summer myself!

Yes, Easter was very nice, but certainly rather different. It was hard to not see the grandkids in person!!
