Yes, we are all probably tired of of not only hearing about " Shelter in Place or " Quarantine" but also experiencing it. Our daily lives as we know it have come to a screeching halt. Many, missing their family, friends, activities and so much more. Even that weekly trip to the grocery store that so many of us would tread has us being a little more grateful for those outings.
Mental health is a crucial part to being well physically. Cabin fever seems to be setting in for many. What we don't want to do is start feeling depressed or becoming the couch potato because it's really hard to get out of that rut. In times like this we have to force ourselves to do things that we wouldn't have necessarily done before. Whether it be change our diet, exercise, learn how to grow herbs, plant some flowers or whatever your mind can conjure up.
I don't know about you, but I love essential oils. They are amazing to make your own cleaning supplies, lotions, soap and even better when diffused. Oils like lemon, orange and grapefruit are extremely uplifting. Lavender is a calming scent and great right before bedtime. Mix some rosemary and lemon and not only will you feel energized, but you'll focus a little better as well.
Gardening is an amazing and relaxing activity. Not only does it get you out in the fresh air soaking up loads of Vitamin D, but there is something peaceful about planting some seeds or a new tree. Vitamin D and lowering our stress levels is extremely important, especially now. We do not want anything that weakens our immune system.
I know a lot of folks are worried about not being able to hit the gym with those closures. Your smart phone has tons of free apps to get in daily workouts, but there is nothing like a good old fashion walk, especially if you pups. Load them on up with their leashes and go explore your neighborhood. Take a jog. Throw on your headphones and go explore. I would bet there is a bunch of stuff you haven't seen or even neighbors you haven't met, yet!
Christmas seems to always bring out the best in others and its cheer is certainly contagious. Hang some lights if you need to. Throw on the Hallmark channel or crawl up to Netflix and watch some Christmas magic. It is really good for the soul.
Yes, we are all snacking. Probably too much. Now might be a great time to find some healthy dessert recipes you and your family will enjoy. It's a great time to gather around the kitchen together and whip up some new treats. The worst thing that can happen is a flour fight, right? 'Cause even if the treats are bad-you'll probably still eat them. Who wants to go to the grocery store right now?
I don't think any of us expected for this to last as long as it did. But, we are here and we have to make the most of it. Of course if you are still looking to buy or sell a home, this is a great time for us to talk. Virtually, we can accomplish so much and we don't have to put things like this on hold. I'm only a phone call away!
Stay safe and reach out with how you are beating the quarantine blues!
