How To Begin Decorating A "New To You" Home

By
Home Stager with Lantern Lane Designs

Many years ago my husband and I moved into what I thought was our forever home on Lantern Lane.

We no longer live in that home but while we lived there I did countless DIY projects and spent many hours decorating our house to make it a home.

We sold our home on Lantern Lane on whim (and quicker than we ever anticipated). We are now living in our new forever home and this time I decided to start a blog documenting my DIY projects and home decor tips.

I couldn't think of a better name for my blog. Lantern Lane will always have a special meaning to me.

Blogging has been a fun adventure but decorating our new home has been even better.

Our current home wasn't my dream home at first. There were things I am sure I would have done differently had we built this house ourselves.

But we didn't and I was up for the challenge of making this house our home.

Decorating your home does not have to be difficult and there are no such thing as "trends". If it's a design you love, then go for it.

Sometimes you just need to know where to start decorating especially when you move into a "new to you" home. It definitely can feel overwhelming. You can see more of my decorating tips when beginning to decorate your home in this post.

I have so much more decorating and DIY projects to do in this house but I know the best designed spaces take time!
