Farmers' Markets In The Charlotte Area Are Open For Business:
Why Not Shop Local & Support Our Local Farmers' Markets?
Despite the shelter at home orders in the Charlotte region, Farmers Markets are open for business. They are considered "essential" businesses. To show support for our local farmers and businesses, why not consider shopping for your fresh food at one of our wonderful Farmers' Markets this week and in the weeks to come? With so many businesses in the Charlotte area shuttered right now, what could be more important than supporting our local businesses than by shopping and buying local where and when we can?
"New" Farmers' Market Shopping Rules During COVID-19
If you decide to shop at one of Charlotte's local Farmers Markets, you should be aware of the "new" rules on how to shop and stay safe while doing so:
- Advance, online orders will speed up your shopping trip and reduce exposure.
- If you do order ahead, arrive later in the morning for pickup to lighten the load of early morning crowds.
- If you don't order ahead, make your purchases and leave as quickly as possible.
- Don't have more than one family member shopping.
- Wash your hands before you head out and as often as you can while you shop. Many markets now have hand-washing stations.
- Look, but don't touch! Just point to the products you want to buy. For the most part, one person will bag the produce and another collect your money. Some markets will round up your purchase to the nearest dollar to avoid handling coins.
- Maintain as much space as possible between yourself and other shoppers.
- Sampling of products suspended until further notice.
-
Bring your own wipes to use once you get back in your car.
-
Most markets do not allow animals, so leave Fido at home.
-
PLEASE STAY HOME if you're not feeling well.
