Oh wow Lise Howe, that has not been my experience. If anything, many of the people we've encountered on our hikes in Patapsco Valley are taking it too seriously. By that I mean that we've noticed less smiles, less warm greetings, and more suspicious eyeing of oncoming traffic, turning backs etc. .. I know it's just a sign of the times, but it's a bit sad nonetheless. I sincerely hope we'll get back to normal before too long.
Hello Andrea - it's interesting to see how common courtesy and etiquette is being exhibited. These days and in these times in general. I find most are not only in compliance but quite polite. Of course, the adage of "one bad apple" has made an appearance more than once.

Agreed Brian England, and most do observe the trail etiquette - and least in my experience. Just wish people would find their smiles again!

I have made that same observation Michael Jacobs. So many really do just go with the flow w/out bickering, or complaining. Sporting a face mask, and keeping a minimum distance instead. It's fascinating how quickly we've adapted to a new "normal"!

Hello Andrea Bedard, we have lots of people last week hitting the trails and parks and our Governor still wants people to stay in but to many are going out.

I believe in finding the middle ground Will Hamm, people go nuts if confined to a home for weeks on end. Exercise is SO important in staying healthy, mentally and physically... we just all need to do it responsibly right.
Hi Andrea- Most people do however on our walks I see people of 3 or 4 who take up the width of the path. Everyone around them has to go off or wait until they pass. Even after they see people getting off of the path they are totally clueless.

It is so sad that many need a notice to inform them. Our National Park has so many doggie litter bags just dropped, I wonder why those owners cannot take them with them and put in the trash and that was without a pandemic. I too have noticed many notices saying Leave No Trace recently.

It's just like Michael said Kathy Streib that "one apple".. my observation has been that most people are following the rules, and keeping the proper distance. A bit too much perhaps, it's still okay to smile and wave!
Thank you for the reblog!
True, Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 but perhaps it's more so because it feels "normal" when we are out walking and hiking?! Nature's cycle continues on, Spring is here, flowers bloom, the woods are greening..
Totally agree about the doggie doo! Please y'all, dispose of it properly and let's keep our parks the sanctuary we need them to be!

i have been completely amazed by how many people are out on the Canal and parking close together - and walking near each other without masks - Social distancing isn't even a concept on the canal - so glad that the County has opened some new areas.
