I'm Over The Magnified Virus Image; But How Are We Looking Magnified?

By
Real Estate Agent with Big Block Realty 858.232.8722 CA BRE# 01261476

We've Seen the Virus Magnified;

How Are We Looking Magnified?

The Magnifying Glass...

Is it Revealing Our Character or Our Cracks?

The pandemic is a magnifying glass and it's trained on us - mankind.

It has exposed people, revealed who they are during change, uncertainty and fear.

Some folks are very Positive and Uplifting, others are Chicken Little and their sky is falling.

Some people have vanished-where'd they go?

They do not return calls, texts or emails...why?

Others are more present than ever, funny and encouraging calls, posts and videos, etc.

Some people are performing amazing acts of kindness, charitable efforts and fun videos to lift our spirits. Other are spreading selfish negativity, doubt and fear.

I implore you to be the light, do not be diminished by others darkness.

Thomas J Nelson REALTOR San Diego

Our Health has been exposed; where we were when we went into this pandemic

matters and likely determines how will exit it.

Our Marriages have been exposed; domestic violence and divorce is up by 50% while others are thriving.

I'm making extra efforts in mine personally, I want good memories to look back on. Taking extra time out of my daily work rituals to eat all meals together and walk our dog together.

Our Finances were exposed; some are in dire straights while others have not flinched,

in fact they are donating funds, food & blood to help. Our budgets, savings and our working relationships with money have created our current reality.

Our Businesses were exposed: some are unemployed, others "just waiting for this to be over", while a few got creative and carried on modified business and sales to stay afloat;

still others are still working as much or more than ever (like our frontline workers).

I got creative and proactive with today's loans, grants & forbearance resources: I did what I could to offset my reduced income with reduced debt.

Our friendships and relationships were exposed; who have you called since March 1st?

Who has called to check in on you?

San Diego Real Estate Market

Some news outlets have been exposed as Doom & Gloom outlets vs. others that showcase our Front-line Heroes and Average Joe's that do Above Average Acts of Kindness.

Who do you see

in the mirror today?

When you look back on Q2-Q3 of 2020, will you do so with pride or shame? Will you have some fun memories to reflect on because you chose to make the best of it?

My goal is to be proud of myself, to be in a better marriage & business, to have stronger relationships and have made good memories in spite of the pandemic & hardships.

My Humble Ask of You:

Let's be the rock, not the river.

Let's be the anvil that wears out many a hammer.

Let us be someone others can count on.

The real estate market is strong, we should be too!

The real estate market will bounce back, how about you?

This is a great post, Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor e-Pro, CRS, RCS-D, Vets . I am viewing each day with gratitude and the opportunity to support local businesses as much as I can, including take out from restaurants, and keeping and getting in touch with our friends and client base.

Hi Thomas- what a wonderfully inspirational post. We can choose to bring everyone around us down but to what end? Let's see who needs our help. Let's give people a break when they have an oops moment. They may have more on their minds than we can possibly imagine.

Absolutely true, Thomas. Our character is on full display. If we can remember to practice gratitude, there is little room for other negative emotions. I begin each day with meditation focused in gratitude, and have triggers to remind me to express gratitude throughout the day. For example, we have a lot of birds around here, so a bird song is a trigger for me to stop for a moment and focus on gratitude. My husband, my home, our full refrigerator...so many gifts.  Your attitude makes me smile and it's a pleasure to know you in the Rain.

Good morning, Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor e-Pro, CRS, RCS-D, Vets Covid-19 has fully exposed the true inner workings of each of us.... there's an entire gamut of results... physically, emotionally, socially, mentally and financially.... this reminds me of my favorite quote from Warren Buffett:

"Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked"

I love this. Attitude really is everything. I know I spent a few weeks buried in fear and the struggle to learn how to teach my middle schoolers remotely, but now we've definitely moved on to trying to make the best of it. Learned some new recipes. Reminded ourselves that time together isn't necessarily quality time. Increased our efforts to reach out to friends and family.

Thomas,  Good will come out of this to those that are open to listen. Perhaps that is why this is all taking place. Change does not come easily until we are forced into a different way of being.

Hi Thomas:

This is a wonderful, thoughtful and inspiring post.  It's at times like these when one true character can emerge. Not sure why this does not have a gold star but we know that's it's feature-worthy!
