My little office turned one this year. To celebrate, we trough an anniversary party for everyone that works here. Being on the social committee, we stared planning the party and thinking about all the great things we did this year.
•- We were the top new Keller Williams market center in the Carolinas region
•- We were profitable from our first day of business
•- We have great agents that work here
•- We have all become extend family to one another.
You know we didn't do that alone! So we came up with the idea to make it a Realtor appreciation party to thank all those that we did cross sales with. We would invite them to just hang out and have a great time.
We called them after the innovations went out to make sure they got it and to personally invite them again. You know we got asked by a few what the catch was and how much it would be. Most couldn't believe that we were throwing a free party with no strings attached just to say, "Thank you for your help making our first year such a great one."
That got me to thinking, not only as realtors, but as people are we so use to strings being attached to everything. Every day you turn on the news; you see where someone was taken advantage of. The days of a good honest gesture of giving something is thought by people to have strings attached. Remember when a neighbor use to move into the neighborhood and you would bake cookies and introduce the kids so they could play together. Where did that go?
I am not saying to go back to leave it to beaver days or anything, but have we become so jaded as human beings that every time someone does something nice for you we instantly think what do I owe them?
Anyway the party was great and everyone had a great time. I hope that people left and remember it as just what it was, just a THANK YOU AND NOTHING ELSE!
