A taste of retirement?

My wife is set to retire from her job this coming May 1st. That's less than 2 weeks away. She has already been working from home for 5 weeks, unable to even go to her office to pick up some personal items. On top of this, I was home for the past 4 days as well. We may have just had a taste of what retirement will be like.

Luckily, we got through it without any major issues. I have an office in the basement while my wife works from an office on the second floor. We meet in the middle during breaks.

While May 1st will be upon us before we know it, my plans are still the same. I love going to work and plan on doing so for the next 4 years or so. I hope this allows us to transition into full retirement over time so that we can clear up any issues like, who gets the remote for the TV, or how many episodes of Bosch can we watch at one sitting.

Oh the pressures of retirement.

Good morning, Peter den Boer welcome to my world....I call what I do semi-retirement.... I do marketing and get a referral fee for it from every closing...but I work from home at my own pace.... I love what I do....

Good morning Peter den Boer - it was hard for me to transition to a home office but now I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hello Peter - so you you're getting a "taste" like an appetizer.   You have the opportunity to create the main course.  Each of us do. Each and every day.

Hi Peter, I've been working from home for years. When Larry retired, I had to let him know that the kitchen was not open 24/7 and no...I would not be making breakfast, lunch and dinner.
