Unless you have ever grown a beard you would have no idea how a beard makes your face impenetrable to cold.

However there comes a time to shave. It's always spring time for me.

Well... it's kinda, sorta spring time in North Dakota. What that really means is it seems the sub-zero temps have passed and the highs are now reaching 50 degrees. So I did it. I couldn't show you Saturday when I did it as I blead for a day or two and I had to let the red irritated skin pale a bit BUT the worst part of that annual shave... seeing how much my face aged over the last year.

James Dray for me it's the face twice a day (got to look good in the morning and if I want any romance I gotta shave at night as well) as far as  noggin it's usually daily (just depends on if I'm being lazy that day).

Michael Jacobs the real question is: is my chin ready for the ND spring? It's amazing to feel the wind on my face once again and there are going to be days that I will need a scarf to stay warm.

I need some of that "spackling" for my cracks and crevices too!  Every spring my collie gets her annual shave down.  She loves to crawl into the bushes and relax.  She comes in with flowers, leaves and twigs in her coat.  Spring is always a good time to get a fresh start...enjoy feeling the wind on your face again this summer!
