Kenwood Park is a community built in the 1960s just on the outskirts of downtown Bethesda on the Arlington Road and Bethesda Avenue side of town. You can walk into Bethesda along Bradley Boulevard in about a half hour at a leisurely pace, putting you close to shopping, restaurants like Rio Grande and Mon Ami Gabi, and movie theaters like Bethesda Row Cinema.

What's the Neighborhood Like?
Homes in Kenwood Park are an assortment of styles, ramblers, split levels, contempories and colonials, which have evolved from their original construction in the late 1950s as a sequence of owners have personalized their homes and updated them. Now the Craftsman style homes are beginning to appear as builders buy the original homes and tear them down to replace them with homes reflecting current consumer choices.
The Kenwood Park community was built in the late 1950s and early 60s. It is between River Road and Bradley Boulevard, Goldsboro and Whittier Boulevard. This neighborhood has homes consistently from the low 1 millions to above $2 million (and even higher), although there are sometimes a home listed in the high 800s to low 900s which has not been rebuilt or extensively renovated. What's Going on Near Kenwood Park?
One of my favorite things to do is to take a long walk down the Canal with my standard poodle and watch the kayaks on the Potomac River and the Canal. If you are looking for a pleasant evening of music and good food, the obvious choice is the Irish Inn at Glen Echo which frequently has live music in the bar, and in warm weather the patio is open for al fresco dining.
Another special treat is to visit the historic Glen Echo Park itself with the artists in residence, dances at the Spanish Ballroom, the Children's Theater and the Merry Go Round. This was an amusement park from the 1930s to the 1960s which is now operated by the National Park Service and is a wonderful contribution to Bethesda.
Besides Glen Echo and the Canal, of course you can always bike into Bethesda or drive in quickly. There are so many restaurants and shops in Bethesda that you will be busy every evening choosing the perfect way to spend your free time.
