Most people have been pretty used to their quarantine routine by now, and most people have become increasingly creative with how to fill the time for their little ones. We have many families in our Highlands Ranch property management portfolio who have shared some of the tips that have helped keep their family together and mostly sane. Family fun for extended hours has become both a blessing and a curse for many families and here’s how they are filling the time. Someone has said they made an obstacle course throughout their entire home using painter’s tape and cushions. They had the course extend all three levels of the house and it kept the kids (ages 4 and 7) occupied for an entire day. This can be crucial for those juggling working from home, with small kids, and potentially kids needing to do their schooling online. You might be thinking that could be a lot of clean up, but as we approach the second month of being at home it seems that anything that can reliably pass the time should be considered. We have also heard of people bowling with plastic cups and any kind of soft ball on hand. You can apply that thinking to any other at home activities, so long as you can improvise with what you have on hand. If those have run out, there is always some screen time, which has probably been the hardest thing to limit during this time. But it is a necessary evil right now. Beyond that, you will have to get creative with family videos together, perhaps copying the new online memes as they come out. Above all enjoy the extra family time, as you may not have had as much of it before, and it should definitely be considered a blessing for those with great family situations at home.
