Hi Everyone!  Have a great day wherever you are!  May your day be magical.
I'm in the mood for a few aphorisms today.  I hope you will like what I chose.
(Aphorism (definition):  a  short, pithy statement containing a truth
of general import or astute observation ~

an Orange Tree would rather die than produce lemons,
whereas instead of dying, the average person would rather be
someone they are not."                                            ~Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Hey,  Brian England , thank you for such a nice compliment.  Perhaps it will help me remember the aphorism about the 'Orange Tree'... Haha.  And thank you for the reblog of  my last post -- however, those who follow and read your posts here on ActiveRain know you are very special;  I know you have a high Soul, Brian,,, Also I would like to add, that if anyone ever chooses you as their Real Estate Professional, as their agent, I just know that they chose a 'winner.'  You are that special!  And last thought, I very much learn from you, too.

Hello Jane - your collection of quotes today brings some once familiar names that  can serve as reminders to search things from the past(James Thurber and David Mamet are two),

Although I couldn't recall Napoleon Bonaparte as the author, I remember hearing that quote over and over.  Time and experience in life and this planet have taught me that it's far from truth in countless cases.

Hi,  Barbara Todaro !  You have been in my thoughts so many times - in fact, almost every hour I am awake since our early communication on Tuesday morning.  Why?  Well,  Barbara, I just know I must be the antithesis of you and your love, knowledge and respect for exercise, gyms, barbells, and all the good things incorporated in that particular field.  Barbara,  I HATE TO EXERCISE.  Yes, I do know how healthy and IMPORTANT it is --  oh yes, I do know that...I just hate doing it.  And now, and especially since Tuesday - 3 days ago - and our communication, you are like a silent wise man, Guru...walking beside me...somewhere between being my conscience and a Socratic gadfly (no insult intended, rather a compliment.)  Since you have become a part of my mind, guess there is only one thing to do  -  'SEE Jane EXERCISE  EXERCISE, JANE, EXERCISE.'

I do have a question.  I am going through a Sciatica Inflammation period.  Part of my DNA from my Dad...First attack was years ago, 2 weeks before my Wedding.  The Chiroprator mentioned I might need a wheel chair to make my entrance down the middle aisle.  I currently do have sessions with an excellent Physical Therapist.  Any suggestions, Dr. Todaro?  Usually an attack will last a number of months and one day I realize I am well...that it is all OK again.  I was able to walk down the aisle for my Wedding and no pain at all.  However, it took 7 months to be healed, whole, and healthy again 'a way back when......'
Have a great day, Barbara.  I do not expect you to be under any special stress over this text.  I am intending to do my post tomorrow on quotes that cover 'achieving the impossible.'  Two issues:  the Sciatic Nerve and Exercise :)

Oh, Jane Chaulklin-Schott I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.... you must have a neurologist to guide you....  or an orthopedic surgeon..... I would have BOTH...

the only exercising anyone with a sciatic nerve condition should be doing is stretching!!!!

pidgeon pose.... google it.... watch a video.... it's a common stretching motion for those with sciatic nerve pain.... BUT YOU SHOULD BE TAKING DIRECTION FROM YOUR SPECIALIST....NEUROLOGIST AND /OR ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON.....

Good morning Jane. Must say this one has to be used wisely in consideration of the big picture:

Happy Friday to you, Michael Jacobs!   Thinking back, I  do  recall my Mom and Dad repeating the Bonaparte aphorism at times throughout my youth.  Hey Michael, when I do think back, were they insulting me or just wanting me to learn an aphorism ?!?  I enjoyed your humorous comment.

Hmm...well, that is certainly something to ponder.  Isn't it?

Hi Wayne Martin!  Your selection and comment had me pause and think over the particular quote.  Yep, I realize all the strength it can take to sometimes make a decision to 'yield.'    Have a great day in Chicago, Wayne.

Hi, Myrl Jeffcoat.   I recall a few years ago when one of my sons was returning from living overseas and asked:  What are all the people doing in the Airport not talking to one another?  He continued:  they are all sitting for hours at their gates waiting for their designated planes and looking down at something they hold in their hands?????   He was not knowledgeable or had yet to be introduced to the Smartphone.  Hahahaha....

Jane,

I would go to an acupuncturist.  Ours is incredibly skilled, and is also a Reiki master (that would also be a great solution).  He also does Yoga therapy, and the pigeon pose. Barbara Todaro recommended is good Yoga pose.  I would do it YIN style.  Yin style means supporting with a pillow under your leg, and but if you need it, and hold it in the LEAST hurtful position, but stay with it for a while...do not push, ever, and keep taking deep breaths and with the exhale just RELAX in the position...I love Yin style...A
