Someone in California Enjoys Pretending to be Facebook

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Wayzata Lakes Realty: Eric Kodner Sells Twin Cities Homes

If you happen to receive a text message from 805-600-3553 (a California phone number), report it to Facebook. It's just someone trying to spoof visitors, really just a phony front number that belongs to some Lysol-guzzling pinhead who didn't like one of your Facebook comments or posts.

The text message reads, "Your Facebook Account is restricted, please review and accept Policy here to verify".

The 805 area code covers four counties, including Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.

805-600-3553 will send you a text message with a link you are supposed to follow:(https://fbpolicy.vrfd902.com?FacebookID86573446 or https://fbpolicy.vrfd902.com/FacebookID86573446

One of these links takes you to a page that is registered with "1&1 IONOS" which apparently has nothing to do with Facebook. The other takes you to someone in Morro Bay, CA (zip code 93442) who likes to imitate Facebook.

As for the real Facebook, I contacted them and my Facebook account is not restricted.

This is what happens when some people are sheltering in place and they get really bored.
