Confronting Coronavirus: Disparities in the Black Community

Sign up for the Virtual Town Hall with Kamala Harris and moderated by Biden Senior Advisor, Symone Sanders.
The event will take place on Monday, April 27th at 3:30 PM.

The discussion will address the coronavirus and the impacts and disparities it has had in the African American community. It should be a great event featuring Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, Bishop Vashti McKenzie, and Dr. Oliver Brooks as panelists.

Thanks for sharing this info Roy. As a retired critical care nurse formerly working in the City of Chicago Hospitals up until the late 1990's, I know that access to regular health care and lack of nutrition play a role in any indigent populations recovery from illness. There is usually a social economic AND physiological basis behind mortality statistics that must be identified and dealt with to reverse trends. Recently, I read that lack of Vitaminc C, lack of Vitamin D and low magnesium levels impacted covid recovery? One hospitas  even giving IV infusions containing vitamin C to critically ill with the virus whose levels were low. Much more study is needed to identify and help those who lack proper nutitrition - which is key to boosing immune responses - as is seen as some people only get mild symptoms and recover - while others go south quickly. God help those scientists uncover remedies and vaccines and a cure!

Stay Safe & Healthy,

Sincerely,

Grace

So she is out in your neighborhood? I have not seen her but listened to her sister Maya talked once. Very inspiring.

Thanks

Very unfortunate how this virus tends to affect Black and Hispanic Americans more than others.  There must be a health issue that can be addressed in order to remedy this situation!  Thanks
