An Influx of Wildlife

Living on five acres we always have our fair share of wildlife roaming around... deer, rabbits, crows, birds of all kinds, fox, rabbits, a squirrel or two, rabbits, an occasional coyote, a snake or so, rabbits... you get the picture. But I have been enjoying the thought that during our last month of "stay at home" that the animals are having free reign of territory that we usually don't share.

I thought that perhaps I was alone in my thinking that the animals were out having a hayday in our suddenly quiet spaces, but the reports are starting to come in of animal sitings all over suburban and more urban areas all around us.

The deer are enjoying their moment of peace and probably crossing every possible road possible while they have the chance. And the ducks and geese and birds of every kind are out in full force. Though maybe we are noticing because we are watching more? And the rabbits! Every time we look out our window there are 3 or 4 hopping past the windows. It's driving our puppy nuts. He sure loves chasing them!

I do think that the wildlife are enjoying this quiet reprieve. The freedom that they have to roam in places normally filled with human populations.

For us at home? We've been keeping the camera on the kitchen table and zooming in on all kinds of creatures roaming thru.

Good morning Lindsey. No room to roam if you call downtown Chicago home, but we do have sparrows and robbins visit our balcony! Enjoy your day!
