HELPING HR LEADERS DURING THIS CRISIS

By
Education & Training with Performance Development Strategies

I co chair the HR Council at the Business Council of Westchester. HR professionals have plenty of work to do to make sure their companies are in compliance with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) as well as the New York State expanded Paid Family Leave.  There are many questions.

HR CouncilWe had 45 people on yesterday.  We invited two speakers, an employment law attorney and the Executive Director of the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board.

It is important to see that this information is shared.  It is difficult for HR Professionals to stay current with all the updates not to mention the general business managers.

Hello Grant - with the number of changes(plus revisions and modifications to those changes) it's good when the HR world knows there is a place for them to learn and share in Westchester County New York.  It seems to be effective and efficient.  Safe too.

I think these types of meetings will become more popular in the future, even when we are able to gather in person again.

HI Grant... as Endre Barath, Jr. said... people are getting "zoomed out." I know I am... so 45 people on the session is a great participation rate... I don't envy HR personnel what they are having to go through just now.

Grant we have been using ZOOM more and more at church.  It has been a great tool for us to stay connected.  Last Sunday we had about 20 families (about members) on a ZOOM meeting.  Not the same as being together, but it enables us to talk and see each other.

Our local Real Estate Council has also started to use ZOOM for our monthly meetings.  That one is a little bit tougher, because everyone wants to talk.  So it gets a little confusing at times.  We might have to start the raise your hand feature ...... LOL

George - our church has used it too.  Everyone is muted except the pastor and then he has everyone unmuted and greets one by one.

Hi Grant Schneider - I am glad to see you have had a strong showing.  Things change so fast HR has to stay on top of it.  I personally think we are seeing more people participate than regular in-person meetings.  ZOOM saves a lot of time by NOT driving to and from and getting ready.

Rebecca - it certainly has given us new opportunities.

Kathy - We have been on with even many more than that number.

Sheri - this is true about more meetings.  More on Zoom than in person.

Good Morning Grant,

I was introduced to ZOOM by our GHAR (Greater Hartford Association of Realtors) leaders being a member of the two committees within the organization. Things we are compelled to do during the paradigm shift.
