NAR MLS Clear Cooperation Policy

By
Real Estate Agent with REMAX Realty Group Lic. # SL3154233
TAKE A LOOK AT THE NEW MLS POLICY:

The policy, also called NAR 8.0, says you may not market a property before it is on the MLS. If you do, you have just one business day to enter the property into the MLS.

The National Association of Realtors® "Clear Cooperation" policy becomes effective this Friday, May 1, 2020.

If you feel someone has violated the Clear Cooperation Policy, please email our local Florida Gulf Coast MLS association email MLS@rpcra.org with proof.

Please see the flyer to learn what this policy means for your real estate practice. The NAR link explains the rule in detail:

We have seen this here in our MLS, slightly ahead of NAR, but a major benefit for sellers making sure their properties get marketed to the most buyers and not just a select few.

Hi Abby... I totally understand the thinking behind this. By the same token, it takes away an option from a seller who might not want their property in MLS. I've had pocket listings over the years where there would legitimate reasons for a sale that wasn't public.

Hello Abby,  Are all states doing the same thing now?    I guess I need to follow up with our state.

Hi Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 I saw this coming long time ago with so many agents not following the rules.

I think that option still available for sellers who don't want their property in the mls, as long the sign the agreement. Nina Hollander

Abby, at our virtual Friday morning marketing meeting, we usually have a person from our local MLS, and they did remind everyone 5/1 was the day this went into effect.

So does this mean no more Coming Soon promotion ? And I’m guessing it would apply to sign riders also ?
